MODERATORS
I am tired of practically every game being made in Unreal.
I'd rather see everything be on an engine that everyone knows how to work with and doesn't completely suck, than for everything to take 15-20 years to make because they want to use their own engines that end up sucking. Or GameBryo/Creation. Shutters Ew.
I also dislike it, but it's easy to see why. Once something is both this widespread and user friendly it will become increasingly more popular in a positive feedback loop. Easier onboarding is so valuable compared to having to teach people your in-house engine.
I'm afraid we'll only see more Unreal games in the future.
I see why too, but its frustrating because it means less games will be unique. More games with the same lighting system, the same caveats, the same limitations, etc.
Its like RenderWare all over again.
