It's a new age of handhelds!

Not a big fan of two tiers of processing power. It makes it harder to target a platform. There's plenty of other ways to differentiate a "pro" handheld without a better CPU or memory.

Looks like a good deal, just would be nicer if they just ran the 8840U for both models.

The device isn’t the platform though, steam is (or whatever other PC storefront you want to use on it)

In these cases, always target the lower hardware, so that the better hardware does what it is really supposed to do: run the games for the lower hardware, better.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

After being revealed early in February, the upcoming Orange Pi Neo that will come with Manjaro Linux now has a price, and there will be multiple versions of it although we still don't exactly have a clear release date.

The Manjaro Linux account on X posted that it was "launched" in Shenzhen, China.

It will join the Steam Deck in being powered by Linux, although not SteamOS, it will use a special immutable Manjaro Gaming Edition.

Although if you don't get on with Manjaro, there's other options like ChimeraOS and Bazzite that will no doubt get drivers sorted for it.

The starter $499 price actually seems quite reasonable don't you think?

I'm definitely excited to see more proper Linux handhelds coming to market, and unlike the recent Playtron announcement this is an actual product releasing soon.

The original article contains 170 words, the summary contains 135 words. Saved 21%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

It's a new age of handhelds!

Because I'm not on fps now, after years, I'm just starting to use a controller 😂,

But that's for sure a new age of handhelds and maybe this time the years of Linux are coming,

Look at this Epics or others TM
