That’s why I said for me, but I can see my word placement wasn’t great, and probably not clear. Such is life.

I’d never trust a company trying to sell you an overpriced product that monitors your purchase and consumption habits to get you to spend even more on ordering services or whatever nonsense their fridge does, to give better advice than a persons own body, even when said body is not working properly with signaling, or has been otherwise hijacked by empty foods.. I’d sooner trust even the worst malfunctioning body than this nonsense.

You know what else monitors my activity levels and provides calorie intake suggestions and food suggestions based on that and macro/micro nutrient levels?

My body, via hunger and food cravings. And it’s free! (for me)

And I can 100% guarantee this little device isn’t going to know what I’m actually in the mood for, so it will literally never be what it suggests.. Plus my fridge is sad single person fridge half the time - most of my food is dry goods (which it has no ability to track), and I get what produce I need when I need it or it goes bad.

Samsung: “You have beer, milk, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, sweet chili, and jelly in your fridge. Make it a soup I guess? I can’t work under these conditions! I’m going to order you real food and then tell you to cook it.”

Me: “No samsung, I don’t feel like cooking today, that’s why I don’t have any food to make.”

Samsung: “Did I stutter?”

Real talk tho, their smart TVs aren’t even any good -regretfully I have one-, which doesn’t build confidence for their even-more-niche smart stuff, why would anyone want all this other trash?

I also have to assume they probably do rotations, like watch/guard duty in the military, of control room and more active work, or it would get suuuuper boring real fast. Plus their skills would get rusty if nothing ever happened.

But maybe I’m overly optimistic.

That edit is basically why I didn’t care for it.

I have a pair of usb Logitech controllers and they are alright, but the configuration was a pain, so like.. ehh.

It’s a lot better now, I just have a huge backlog of discs so not in a rush. Probably won’t be bothering with the next generation of consoles though. No point.

I’ve been a console fangirl since NES/SNES/Genesis (had them simultaneously). I tried pc gaming a few times between 2000 and 2010 or so, and it was ok, but controllers weren’t really there yet, and I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of wasd control. I preferred console for being plug and play. No question if it’ll run, just pop in the disc and pick up the controller. I also prefer console for the used game market. I’ve bought only a handful of games new, and have over 400 discs. Exclusives haven’t mattered to me because I get all the major consoles when they get cheap (the same game can be much cheaper depending on platform).

But now that consoles are just walled garden computers 5+ years out of spec date on launch with access authorization issues (looking at you, ps+ “you need to upgrade your account” message every time I access a downloaded/streamed game), and most games no longer hit the resale market in any meaningful way if they even launch on disc, what with half the current gen consoles being fully digital and all.. There’s actually less than zero reason to keep on console. And any console maker who doesn’t realize that is going to really suffer for short sightedness. Pc gaming has come a long way since then, with control customization and everything. It blows console out of the water.

They ruined their own markets with their greed, and now they are losing relevance.

Well… yeah I mean the first remake was available on ps+ within 6 months after it released.. why would you take that burn and then buy the next one?

I did a factory reset on my Roku several months ago and it works more or less like it would normally. Can’t set themes, which is the only big lack, but most of the important settings are still available. I know I can change the inputs and settings and stuff on it, though, because the hdmi1 is classed to PlayStation and 4 to computer.

I just did a factory reset and never connected to the internet. You can’t disconnect it from the internet without a reset, tho, or you’ll get “not connected” messages frequently, which I assume is what you are talking about.

If I can pay a single reasonable fee and have access to literally everything, I do.

If I could do that without having to go through the effort of finding everything myself, I would absolutely pay for that. I used to stream because it was better. I can’t afford that now though, and not everything is even available.

Last I played years ago I think you could have 10? And that was per server, there were tons of servers to choose from, so if you wanted more, you could.

What? No that’s the opposite of what I said.

Why yes, I am capable of shooting myself in the foot at record speed as soon as I open my mouth. In fact it’s mandatory!

Lovely of you to notice!

Imho the only answer that needs is “prove it”.

What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed with the same. So, prove it.
