Sheeiit I absolutely loved the first one, even only having played it for the first time last year. I was blown away at how well it holds up. I do recommend trying it if you have even a morsel of interest. Just my personal 2 cents tho.

Great question.

That is definitely one of the big caveats of BEVs over diesels. A battery on an EV can only take in so much energy. Once you hit that ceiling, the battery won't take in any more current. Fun fact, having a super charged battery in a BEV causes all sorts of headache and can cost you performance.

You either have to switch back to service brakes or, as you mentioned, burn off energy as heat. Not sure how they're doing it with this truck, but on other BEV loaders which I've worked on, we add a hydraulic valve whose only purpose is to create flow, pressure, and subsequently heat. It basically just adds a dummy load. I suspect they tapped into the dump hydraulics and added such a valve for this truck.

This game was sort of before my time. Got to experience 2 on a beefy gaming PC, so I'm hyped for the zombie mode.

As I was playing 2, I was constantly thinking to myself: "this would be a prime game to mod some zombies into". Was surprised to hear they'd already done it in 1.

Hopefully they ported it well.

Couldn't think of a more lemmy thread topic than one involving both Russian geopolitics and linux.

If you're considering building your own firewall, you've started down a long path of homelabbing. I'd encourage you to start with a proper setup and allow yourself plenty of room to grow. You want your setup to be extensible, and the firewall is just the beginning.

I'd grab at least a 15U rack and a Dell poweredge R210. Throw in a gigabit nic and install OPNsense. You'll have room for your switches, NAS, UPS, etc... later.

People in the know who make big yellow equipment have taken note of the massive, unprecedented uptick in militarized machine sales to the middle east. Graders, specifically. They're planning on paving over everything.

The fact that some event happened outside of work hours by no means disqualifies it as legitimate harassment. We should absolutely not be disparaging people for invoking this protection. Think of all the vulnerable groups who may be less likely to speak up after some shitty behavior if we start shitting on people for invoking this protection.

A hostile work environment claim may include conduct that occurs in a work-related context outside an employee’s regular workplace.[219] For instance, harassment directed at an employee during the course of offsite employer-required training occurs within the “work environment,” even if the training is not conducted at the employer’s facility.[220]

Example 53: Harassment During Off-Site Employer-Hosted Party Was Within Work Environment. Fatima’s employer hosts its annual holiday party in a private restaurant. One of her coworkers, Tony, drinks to excess, and at the end of the evening attempts to grope and kiss Fatima. Although Tony’s behavior occurred outside Fatima’s regular workplace and at a private restaurant unaffiliated with her employer, it occurred in a work-related context, the company-sponsored holiday party. Therefore, based on these facts, the harassment occurred in Fatima’s work environment for purposes of a Title VII sexual harassment claim.

Not trying to add FUD, but have there ever been cases of Spotify banning people for using their paid license to run homebrew versions of Spotify?

Yep. And it is an easy one to test. Just immobilize the bike's steering and see how well you can get it to balance.

People who drop these kinds of memes still think warfare is carried out and progresses like it did in the Napoleonic era: two orderly opposed fronts clashing head-to-head in theaters with well-defined boundaries - where the adversary with more guns/people/resources win. Because more guns/people directly equates to military power, right?

These folks would do well to spend even the slightest amount of time learning about fourth generational, guerilla war.

Let's take this meme back a couple hundred years and cast OP as a counter revolutonary American at the onset of the revolutonary war.

/*Wants to have muskets to fend off british empire

/*british empire:

Starts to seem silly when you realize even our founding fathers were doing guerilla warfare not long ago.
