Everyone already has the hardware for 2fa in their pockets too. This was simply a decision this company made to minimise barriers to their customers wallets.

I'm fairly sure you'll be talking to people paid with AMD money to astroturf the shit out of Reddit who will make up every excuse they can about the situation.

OP might not have a PhD but this stuff happens a lot on reddit. A lot of people here on Lemmy have an IT background and would get a rude shock looking at some of the dominant opinions on the major technology-related subreddits, particularly those that are heavily astroturfed.
Garmin software, particularly their integration with third parties absolutely bloody sucks. Their hardware is amazing though.
