My x86 Proxmox consumes about 0.3 kwh a day at around 15% average load. I've only had the Kill A Watt on it for a day, so I don't know how accurate that is, but it shouldn't be too far off.

Return to office has nothing to do with the people who do better in an office environment. It's about forcing those who don't do as well in an office, and those who the commute or time away from the house isn't feasible, back into the office.

Sometimes that "chance encounter" is really just one mouthy coworker cornering another coworker who doesn't like saying no even though they have work they need to attend to. For those people, just avoiding chatty coworkers is a challenge and they get less done because people won't leave them alone with tangential bullshit.

Some of your coworkers have sensory issues that are constantly irritated and distracted by being in a loud, bright, and chaotic office.

This isn't about you. You were always allowed to be in the office (save for pandemic lockdowns). So don't make it about you.

I can't see any proof for these numbers. The link in the article didn't say how they came to the conclusions they did.

I've heard this called "the death of the third place". The first place is home, the second place is work, the third place is everything else. It used to be that people could hang out at bars, malls, bowling alleys, etc. for not astronomical prices. It's gotten too expensive to be out.

They'd give you an answer that's incoherent to their supposed beliefs. The answer would be the one that reinforced their current position. Because that's what they truly believe in. They want more wealth and power for themselves.

Two Worlds is a gloriously bad game that is an absolute blast to play.

Holy shit that's good, as is the earlier article about hiring like a sports team.

I didn't even know that was a thing and didn't notice it in OW. Funny how something most people don't notice is "unplayable" for others.

To your point, I clicked on this post hoping to see what OP was going to use and why because I would like to build my own NAS some day. But like you said, this post is a waste of everyone's time.

In my experience as a programmer, entry roles don't do well as remote. At the start of their career, it's important to learn enough to become independent enough to work from home.
