You do get other types of "claws", them being magnets, tentacles, harpoons and maybe more with their own unique traits.

I see what you mean though. There's a lot of RNG involved and you can't really improve your clawing game other than aiming for the best.

To me, this is less of a gripe and more part of how I am expecting roguelites and roguelikes to behave.

  • Your health is low. Do you have any potions, or food?

Same game, when you made the Guild Master drunk:

  • I never forget faces, but in your case I'll make an exception hic

Paraphrasing there, don't remember the exact quote.

  • It's dangerous to go alone, take this

That is fair. Perhaps controversial but I had something similar with Balatro. But maybe I've just played too much poker in the past, who knows.

"finally" jesus christ, it's been two weeks, give them some slack.

Will streamers play it? Will people buy it? I have no idea and no way to know really…

You can influence some of this directly, but yeah, there will be a lot of unknowns.

In the end of the day I just want to say I did my best and worked as hard as I could.

Valid and healthy goal! I do want to add: you can't do everything yourself. Don't be afraid to lean on your network to get help where possible. You can fill in some of those unknowns with resources from the indie scene, but that will also take time, effort and sometimes money.

Is this an ad?

Congrats on 7k!

7k wishlists doesn't directly translate to sales, but it can give you a good indication. Still, it's good to be aware of the risks, and the consequences of this new, temporary life balance.

Please keep taking care of yourself!

The Outer Worlds is the non-fantasy, single player, action RPG. Outer Wilds is the one you are thinking of. I can't really put that to a genre, other than Outer Wilds is just art.

Dungeon Clawler is out! (store.steampowered.com)

Official description: Dungeon Clawler is a Roguelike Claw Machine Deckbuilder. Build your deck, grab weapons and items from the claw machine to battle enemies, discover powerful perks that create game-changing synergies and unleash crazy combos as you fight your way through the dungeon!

My take: I played the demo earlier this year and it was a blast. I'm really enjoying the "roguelite with a gameplay twist" fad at the moment with Ballionaire, Balatro, Solitairica, and now Dungeon Clawler.

The name of the game is absolutely not SEO-friendly, although it's a good name it's incredibly hard to find with search engines for some people. (Especially because Google likes to show you what Google thinks you are looking for, as opposed to what you are saying you're looking for)

At €/$ 8.99 (10% launch discount) this game is almost a steal. It's also on mobile for €/$ 4.99

released in June, less than 6 bucks, only 1 review.

I haven't tried it yet, but it's hard being an indie dev it seems.

How about reading the article before commenting

[–] donuts@lemmy.world 11 points 2 days ago

As an ex-journo, ouch.

But yeah, investigative journalism is dead. A press release is a valid source but it is the journalists duty to sift through the BS and corpospeak and convey what it actually means.

There's too many sites that just paste a press release on a blog page and call it an article, but let me stop there before I digress even more!

Here's the description by both:

sh.itjust.works:

A bilingual (EN/FR) general-purpose instance located in eastern Canada! Powered by 99% renewable energy! Everyone is welcome eh.

Lemmy.World:

A generic Lemmy server for everyone to use. (...) Lemmy.World is a general-purpose Lemmy instance of various topics, for the entire world to use

The comments about instances being "good" or "bad" is just plain ol' tribalism.

Users get attacked for the instances they registered to, even if they were unaware of instance politics when they actually registered. That sucks!
