Webrings, RSS and dedicated blogs and forums were how we got around, Alta Vista would give you 1-2 relevant links eventually (after digging thing keyword spam) and then you’d follow the clues and links from each result and eventually strike gold. It was a skill that gate kept certain areas of the web, but in a good way.

But google was pretty awesome before it enshitification, same with Reddit and instagram (pre Facebook takeover).

We need a good non-profit search engine that can re-open the independent web that’s still there under the spam somewhere. But it sounds about as likely as overhauling the us election system, or reigning in capitalism in any way. Hard and expensive to rich people.

They paid back in around 5 years on my moms roof, and that was 11 years ago, and panels are waaay cheaper now than they were back then.

There is no vessel in the known universe I would weld for any amount.

(Mostly because I’m self taught and know that every mm of weld counts on those things).

I’d love a PAPR system, but I’m mostly just plug welding body panels on project cars once in a while. I spent a little extra on the welding machine (buy once cry once), but it’s still 1/2 the price of a PAPR.

They look super nice for switching between welding and grinding though. If I was doing it more than a couple hours a week (if that) I’d start saving for one for sure.

I think it splits hydrogen off of water molecules too, so if it’s at all humid in there, it might be explosive too.

Yeah, iPhones have similar modes, swipe down and the screen scrolls down you can also swipe the keyboard to either side for better access too.

I hardly ever do that though, except by accident.

Just looked it up and N95-P100 masks/respirators cover most exposure that welding should create. I’m a hobbyist welder, but wear a P100 respirator 95% if the time (100% indoors).

From NIOSH:

I wear a respirator while welding, but it’s only really a hobby for me so far. But now I’m curious, which filters actually catch manganese?

I’m usually worried about accounting zinc (on galvanized steel), because it can make you ill for a couple days, unless you drink a glass of safety milk.

Exactly they’re (over) paid fall guys.

But offering to take the fall to allow companies to pull the shit they do to workers, the environment, consumers, and investors is pretty fucking disgusting too.
