Seems like they don't care about tiktok at all Idk if I'd call that support. Also, I can't speak for him here but none of my tax dollars go to the Chinese government while more of my tax dollars go to isreal than local schools. So if hes from a country aiding Isreal like me he has an obligation to say something about it or else be complicit is his labor buying weapons for genocide. Its the same reason US protestors focused on Biden instead of Netenyahu when this stated. We don't get to vote for or against Bibi, but Biden, we do, or at this point 'did'

Libs are seething at this absolute correct take. If you're pro free market, you're a liberal and thats as 'left' as you'll ever be.

Did the person who named the station know, or did they not research the name they ended up choosing? Its been declassified, it's on Wikipedia. It strikes me as anywhere from unlikely to unresponsible that the guy didn't research what he intended to use for a name.

I dont think I could dislike the name any more than I do.

Radio Free Asia is a CIA front for info dissemination so anyone who's aware of that would rightfully be skeptical of 'Radio Free ______'

That would make more sense if this was their first time putting this bill forward, but it's not. They've tried this before and none of the other Democrats could be chuffed to stand behind it. This isn't new.

I bet dems would be more open to ranked choice if more people voted for third parties, because as long as the population believes they must vote Democrat or Republican and no one else, neither of those parties have any incentive to change. If lesser evilism stops getting people to vote for the two ruling parties, then there would be incentive for them to change. Short of that you're relying on politicians to do the right thing instead of the profitable thing, which is a fools game.

So three of the more than 250 elected democrats are trying, not for the first time by the way, to get the rest of their party to take it seriously. Talk to me when more than 2% of the Democrats do something about it because otherwise its basically just a platitude.

Its funny because there's a user assuming the astro turf is going the other direction and they're getting mostly up voted. Too many people are thinking with their feelings instead of their brain.

Im fully against public down votes becaue I already see people calling out other users by their name in threads they're not even part of. Theres no world where that behavior gets better when you give them more tools to witch hunt. Lemmy is as much an insular echo chamber as any social media and there are plenty of users dedicated to keeping it that way.

Humanity was not responsible enough with bitcoin to learn how to turn electricity into actual gold. Some nerds going to start setting up Tesla coils in caves soon.
