Copilot rollout has been awful. It started popping up in a power platform app recently too

It's in power BI right now

It popped up in all of my 2022 servers, before even running updates, which means they can push things and change our production without our involvement at all

I'm beyond pissed

Do you use WSUS or anything similar to control updates?

But yeah I agree, copilot has no right to even look at Windows server.

We have it, sort of, but those systems have all automatic updates disabled (they're part of a terminal server farm and need to be as close to identical as possible and our patching team for whatever reason have never been able to reliably and consistently update all of them at the same time)

I think I've crossed a point of no return. It will take prolly a year I'm guessing to full on switch but I am absofuckinglutely done with Microsoft and Google. It's been 5 years and was only a single OS Admin course using exclusively Linux but nothing I remember was that shockingly different.

Linux gaming was the weak point, but the last few year's development has been at lightspeed, most games will work now, aside from a few with anti-cheats that the company themselves decide not to activate.
