Nah RIP Craigslist personals, it was one of the only safeish places to advertise sex work -imo these services should be state-or-community-funded, free AND respecting of privacy, ideally. Maybe it did need more moderation; but even more so it needed less outrage about the useful connections and exchanges of services it enabled. We should always mourn the old web, sure it was flawed like anything else 20 years ago but it was still faaaaaaar better than the google-ravaged wasteland of today.

Google wants the internet simplified so they can get it under their control, what else is new? I started learning web design a few years back and this is the kind of shit that makes me suicidal. There's almost no point when they have such a huge monopoly in the space.

8 is old enough to know a lot of things about yourself. Personally I knew I hated the idea of "being a man" at that age, i just wish i had realized sooner that growing into something else was a option. My mental health would certainly be about 1000x better if I had been able to transition then instead of as a overwhelmed, forsaken and misunderstood 19 year old...

Okay, well I'm ready to write a angry email now who's with me? Anybody know the best address?

Well obviously hope and optimism and nuance are important here, I can't entirely disagree with that I'm just saying we need to support illegalist climate action uncritically (except in the case of complicated, shady organizations like PETA) and we can't expect those in power to act sensibly as a general rule.

I'm not saying we need to write everything off as hopeless, I'm saying we need to recognize that a lot of current efforts amount to greenwashing and ARE hopeless or even pointless (carbon credits for one are a good scam that comes to mind). The best work is being done by people chaining themselves to trees and sabotaging oil pipelines, not those writing policy with pockets full of cash... and this honestly comes off as apologetic for the latter and more than a little naive to me.

Mindless optimism isn't the answer either. We need real change immediately, the window to slam on the brakes as a species is already behind us arguably. The only answer is to be both realistic AND ambitious.

Anticheat software, sure that's what it is. Totally not a excuse to steal total control of a player's machine, nope not here

I believe the "help" in the best of countries is lacking because of ignorance and stigma and the best people fitting that description are the other half of that problem. But also let people be animals or fairies or cryptids or what have you, the world is bleak enough and we're all unhinged in our own ways. Like honestly it's this, acceptance and tolerance pushed to new extremes (something I think we socially as humans totally underdo) OR depressing military cyborgs + authoritarianism in the cards if not a more mundane climate crisis and/or world resource war...maybe even all of the above? Anyways -thanks for considering my thoughts and I really, really do recommend this as a good read regarding the actual definitions of gender and sexuality and why nuance and inclusivity in regards to this topic is so important: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/vikky-storm-the-gender-accelerationist-manifesto

stop weakening the movement by lumping every random alt thing with it

The "movement" has historically BEEN A PART OF EVERY RANDOM ALT THING and is growing to do exactly that! Acceptance is important. But I bet you get real butthurt when you see somebody dressed up like a cartoon animal at pride, huh?

I'd suggest you read the g/acc manifesto. Some people do believe they're animals and should be encouraged to express their kinship with them. Queering society as such is something you should be all for if you're "not straight". I say this as a trans woman who's been around the community for a decade- identity is fucking complicated. Reductive logic like this is NOT applicable and actively harmful, even. therian/xenogender people, you're fucking awesome and I love you all.
