Spreading election lies (and that's what these deepfakes are), needs to be a felony, not protected by the 1st amendment.
Spreading false voting information -- like the example in the article about fake phone calls saying polling places are closed -- is a crime in the US, whether or not it's online, it's just hot particularly well enforced.
