Btw, how does this compare to DiRT Rally 2.0?
In my opinion, I really enjoy it. I wouldn’t say it’s HUGE improvement over Dirt 2, but the simple fact is you get lots more stages and tracks to play, lots more cars and a lot more choice of things to do.
It sure has it bugs and niggles, and can be a pain in the arse to get running smoothly if your PC is one of the ones that it isn’t very well optimised for (like mine)- but I keep coming back to it. I enjoy it, really. The tarmac physics are improved vastly.
In my opinion given the pace of updates and commitments from Codemasters, it’s worth getting. I don’t think I’ve been back to Dirt Rally 2 as there isn’t anything on there that EA WRC doesn’t have already. It’s just essentially an expansion for DR2.
It has one gigantic feature missing, VR. I'm still playing DR 2.0 and won't buy WRC until it has feature parity.
Yeah the missing vr is a real letdown as DR2 was an excellent VR title. But I recall the same thing happened with DR1 and DR2 so it's probably a deliberate ploy for a second wind of sales.
Mind you it's a new engine for once so it's possibly different this time...
& @lobstrosity bear in mind the original Dirt series never got VR until much later. In my opinion, I’d rather they got the performance and optimisation straight before they even think about touching VR.
Granted, they should have just released the game actually fully ready in the first place but who even does that these days anyway /s
