My first trip to Greeley was for business and I was there Tuesday through Thursday. Tuesday was fine, Wednesday as I'm leaving the hotel I walk past a room they're cleaning with the windows open and it smells like piss. I feel terrible for the staff having to clean it. I walk outside and nearly lose my breakfast. The whole city smelled like that.
Turns out that day they were boiling the blood down to a solid. So gross!
Additional note, about 10 years ago they had a tourism ad campaign that specifically said it didn't stink. They lied.
I once thought it was just Denver smelling like garbage and then some guy overheard and filled me in lol
I'm not familiar with Greely, but looking online, it sounds like they have a very large cattle slaughterhouse there. So you've got some smells from waste and processing from that, plus cow manure from associated cattle lots, and it's near Denver, so there are enough Denverites that travel through it for the reputation to spread.
This is an amazing prompt! I tried it with several other cities, and each one produced a fantastic image!
