Probably because the average user doesnt understand chinese. I wouldnt downvote it as the language problem on lemmy isnt solved yet but i can understand someone getting annoyed as the main internet languages are english and maybe spanish but that community is pretty separate from the english one.

yeah I guess, but with a translation browser extension the english is like 2 clicks away
