Sadly WhatsApp isn't skippable where I live but thankfully Meta takes cautious approach enshittifiying it.

Ya can't skip the ads, but you can skip the platform! (I dont use them but yeah hopefully it backfires)
Seems to me a lot of people are getting an intolerance to light, so don't expect too much.

Oh, I skip FB and IG ads completely. It's crazy: I didn't even have to install anything, and the ads just disappeared one day.
But seriously, the "your attention is being monetized" model makes for such an awful experience for me. I'm envious of people who can enjoy the world and the Internet when ads are everywhere.
I think most of them simply opt to not use the Internet as often

When I used Instagram, I used it through Instander for extra features (and ad blocking). It worked pretty well, and it's a mod of Instagram so the interface was the same.
Hmm, I swapped FB with Lemmy for my quick dial when the elections heated up, guess I'll just leave it that way.
