Roblox levels of censoring

[–] bathing_in_bismuth@sh.itjust.works 27 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

And Roblox doesn't even keep the predators out. If your censoring doesn't even do that, why bother? Its the absolutely worst that can happen

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

It's all performative. Everybody knows that word filters do nothing to prevent bad things from happening. But taking actually effective measures might impact the bottom line.

Well, it is a platform for children... That does very little about pedos.

"I want to turn roblox into a dating site" - roblox ceo or smth

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world -3 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

His adult users already have, for MAPs.

[–] TabbsTheBat@pawb.social 22 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Just call them pedos. "MAPs" legitimizes their point of view

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

They can't be legitimized, they are kiddie diddlers. They can be composted though.

[–] bathing_in_bismuth@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Nah don't want their vibe absorbed by nature. Crash test dummies for weaponry and the remaining bits in barrels shot into space.

[–] Death_Equity@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I don't want the carbon footprint of that.

I think their actions are worse than climate change. If the world was full of pedos why even bother trying to fix climate change?!

Life ending idealizing person? ; No, lifelong torture destined person. When a child is abused their and their peers lives are over. Husks. So called "MAP"s deserve the worst. Its good its not my call to make...

Eliminate state capital-punishment. Make prisoners wear their convictions on their sleeves and only use solitary-for-protection while trials are still in-progress or pending. It'll work itself out.

Mr. Chippy, feet first on PPV... If it were my call.

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 7 points 2 weeks ago

They censored you from saying numbers. At all. At least a few years ago. It was ridiculous. And it obviously didn't work.

[–] melroy@kbin.melroy.org 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

What? You can't say n00b. Omg. Wth.

[–] SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Eh, my opinion is that games should be far more stricter. It's really not fun when every match devolves into toxicity

[–] Saleh@feddit.org 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I think you can allow for a reasonable level of trash talk. Calling someone "noob" is fine imo. as it remains in the game, rather than getting personal.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

I'm more shocked people actually use "noob" still. It's basically antiquated at this point and incredibly mild.

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 weeks ago

Gamers need to be stricter with themselves if they have more than 2 brain cells. If a space is overly toxic I will just leave. There's too much competition for my attention, and I dont enjoy getting spat on when im losing.

If enough people decide theyre not willing to deal with it any more, there goes your casual player base, thats longer queue times and more aggressive microtransactions as they desperately milk the whales before the ship sinks.

They should think about it for a moment before they lash out at people.
