i learned recently that the actualy george lucas modeled the ewoks after the vietcong and that's all you need to say to about lucas' political beliefs.

some of the vietcong (and civilians) were forced to live underground and eat bugs to survive american bombing/napalming; maybe tree huts and human meat it's symbolic somehow.
