It's very hard to argue that Iran still would have been attacked had they been armed with nukes.
The only flaw in this reasoning is that the US and its imperial allies coordinated and systematically dismantled the USSR which was armed with nuclear weapons through long term forced spending, proxy conflict, color revolutions and clandestine operations with Russian oligarchs that were never properly dealt with.
