No. That's a time machine powered by anger.

I've teleported twice in my life. However since I'm a functioning adult these days, allow me to condense the relevant finding of those experiences for you:

Don't mix drugs and alcohol.

Dude is having blackouts and needs help.

[–] ch00f@lemmy.world 38 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Yeah, like who hasn't ended up in a Waffle House with no idea how they got there?

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

I wasn't complaining, just surprised.

[–] Reverendender@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 days ago

Or would even know? Or would remember that it happened?

Where did they dig this guy up from?

The longer I'm an adult the more terrifying it is to realize how many people there are in positions of power over people who are either complete morons or straight up mentally ill.

Can you be a racist and a Christian at the same time?

How does that work...

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 5 points 1 day ago

It's been working as described for over 2,000 years.

It’s kinda their default? I dunno what you mean, it’s a big part of their belief system

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I just mean that Christianity says that all humans are equal in front of God, right? And then you also have massive racism that doesnt come from the Bible, right?

[–] But_my_mom_says_im_cool@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Oh boy, have you read the bible? Cause there is a ton of racism in there, both old and New Testament, even if you take the Bible and Christianity at face value, it’s a religion based on “us vs them” mentality, and racist at its core. Remember this religion was founded at a time of external invasion, increased immigration and “globalization” in the ancient world, it had racist dog whistles all over

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 1 points 1 hour ago

No, havent read any of it. Never wanted to... Im not the kind of guy who follows organized religion. But I do think there is a higher meaning to our lives here. Cant prove it, but I dont need to. :) Just a personal feeling.

GOOD point.

I've teleported too, a few times in the past - it can be a bit confusing, like blam you're suddenly somewhere else. Then I've recalled the heinous quantities of booze and drugs I've consumed that day and kinda shrugged.

CNN previously reported that Phillips, who serves as associate administrator for the Office of Response and Recovery at FEMA, described in a podcast last year multiple episodes in which he said he was suddenly teleported miles away — including once to a Waffle House roughly 50 miles from where he had been.

I hope that Waffle House was open, per the Waffle House Index.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 8 points 2 days ago (2 children)

TIL Donald Trump put Cecil Stedman in charge of FEMA while I wasn't looking.

[–] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

That would never happen because Cecil is (usually) competent.

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Didn't realize Cecil loved Waffle House so much.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He wasn't there to eat; he was there to assess the devastation after a fight.

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 2 points 2 days ago

Por que no los dos?

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Shots are never a good idea

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Midterms are going to be interesting.
