I’m not his fan, but that is too harsh. Metal Gear Solid series also has many strong entries, well received by critics and fans.

I think this might be a reference to peace Walker. In peace Walker and 5 your home base is an oil rig. Both have a guy with a revolver but I only played 5 and don't remember a vampire.

It's MGS 2. You're on am oil rig and you fight an actual vampire.

All of Kojimas games are best thought of as fantasy / ninja games with a western military veneer. Looking at it that way, like Call of Duty Naruto, and they flow pretty well.
