A lot of people aren't ready to let go. Probably something to do with having lived their whole lives like this they can't accept its wrong and needed to be changed this whole time. Sunk cost?

definetly onto something. talking to older people thats exactly the impression i get.

deep down the fascists would rather, well, be fascists than to accept radical change from what they are used to. especially when i see that at least in my country they are a majority of older people.
