I know it's fun to use this sort of thing to bag on the Saudis and on Trump, and I'm a fan of neither, but just wanted to point out that this kind of thing is pretty common.

It's just a food truck. Sure it's a bit bigger than your average food truck, but that are catering to larger crowds. I've seen these at events across Europe, and in Australia. I'm sure there's plenty trundling around the States as well.

I think what we find funny here is that it's McD.. You'd usually bring out fancier stuff for a head of state. You know, refined stuff made by a chef, not sloppy fast food.

McD is pretty much the height of American cuisine, lol.

It really isn't, that prize goes to A&W.

What does this even mean? America has some of the best chefs and restaurants in the world. Or are you playing on a trope that Americans only eat fast food?

Can I do that? Okay…well I’m surprised this food truck isn’t a white Toyota truck? Where’s the machine gun in the back?

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Toyota is Japanese and Alqaeda had more attacks against Saudi Arabia than against the US.

Yea my point is to make an ignorant statement about an entire culture/country, similar to the statement that user made

Mission accomplished

As a lifelong USian I have never seen a McDonald’s food truck in my entire life (yes we do food trucks here). Presumably because McDonalds already has a location anywhere that one could possibly want a shitty ripoff burger.

Looks like they've even got one for when the local restaurant gets blown away. https://corporate.mcdonalds.com/corpmcd/our-stories/article/mcrig-hurricane-ian.html

By Saudis do you mean all 25 million citizens or just the government?

[–] gazter@aussie.zone 3 points 1 day ago

I did mean the government, and by Trump I meant the current administration under Trump.

But now you mention it, I can't think of a single Saudi person I'm a fan of, despite working there on and off for some time.
