I didn't like Witcher 3. I played the main storyline to Skellige and after a while of adventuring there, I just could not bring myself to continue the game.
I've read all the books, perhaps that has something to do with it.
As far as fantasy goes, are the books good?
Yes, I think so. There's are interesting large scale trends in the book's world, and even though the protagonists are powerful beings, they're forced to mostly just witness and react to the events. The characters are deep and interesting and the overall plot is rewarding.
