It's possible to post unlisted videos that are only visible to folk with the URL.

Its good for folk who want to give their subscribers early access

Wait, does it? I thought they have better integration with Patreon to determine if you have access to the video. I guess I never checked if I can still open YouTube videos of channels I'm no longer subscribed to on Patreon.

I don't know, maybe they have a specific agreement with Patreon or something. But in general, that's how Patreon like services work with YouTube
