Speaking as a foreigner, this shit is so profoundly pathetic, United States. Get your fucking shit together. Not only should you all be well past shitting all over the queer community, but dispatching cops to guard crosswalks in any capacity other than ensuring school kids using them safely after school should embarrass everyone on both sides of the aisle.

Believe me a lot of us are fully aware of how stupid this shit is. A lot of us are fully accepting of the LGBT community and welcome them with open arms. It's incredibly exhausting watching floroda (and all other deep red states and the fed) doing stupid shit like this because the theater of doing it wins them brownie points with their voters.
I do not envy you that situation, it's what all the cool kids are calling "sub optimal".
On Lemmy 99% would agree with. In a random place in America probably like 80% would agree with you.
