The weird thing about the US using political terms slightly differently to the rest of the world. LIberal is a prime example.
I once posted on some Reddit sub that my local government is Liberal Democrat and some shitizen went off on how stupid I am and how that doesn't even make sense. I don't live in the US, and Liberal Democrat is the name of a party where I am ๐คทโโ๏ธ
you start talking to them and they start mentioning bullshit like "small government" "big government" "DEI" and the constitution
Kinda? Liberals in the US Empire are very much liberals, it's just that conservatives are also liberals. Some people use "liberal" as a stand-in for left not because liberalism is left (it isn't), but because it's left within the tiny overton window off on the far right that is the US. Leftists are still called as such, usually.
