You mean the thing that's currently happening?

Where are those comedians? are they in the room with us right now?

[–] fantasyocean@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The comedians Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle and others decided that alienating their fan base by accepting an egregious amount of money from the conservative monarchy of Saudi Arabia may not be in the room with us right now, probably because he's on the other side of the Atlantic.

IDK under what rock you've been living to not see that Bill Burr is actually speaking out a lot more than most against these fascists or that Chapell has been a right-wing douche since forever.
So you have nothing

Right, and he seems to be willing to throw away the audience he built for "speaking out" in favor of a check from the crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. I won't assume what is and isn't genuine from Dave Chappelle but to pretend like his bigoted takes aren't a recent shift is wild. All that being said I have no stake in this argument, I was a fan and all I'm saying is that I am not surprised. Just disappointed.

The US government goes on their knees for a check from the clown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
Maybe worry about that now.
And you were OK with the trans jokes and other BS he did before? nice.

What makes you think that I'm not extremely critical of the US government? Not much I can do there other than throw myself in front of an ice agent abducting members of my community. I'm not sure what trans jokes you're talking about from his variety sketch show days, but if I didn't cash those jokes then yeah I guess that is on me.
