This has happened to me on Lemmy and Reddit too. I forget what it was I said - an instance where it seemed to me Russia was technically in the right about something - and there was a big old pile on and many downvotes. I think the assumption was "agree with Russia on anything and you're wrong about everything"

As usual the libs are projecting when they talk about leftists defending every single thing a country does. The reality is that they want everything a US rival does to be bad, every single time, and if you step away from that, no matter the objective facts, you're a "tankie."

On Lemmy you're a "tankie".

Liberals are idiots.

sometimes i wish i was a tankie; they know things that i don't know. lol

If you support existing socialism, you're already a "tankie" to most people. Hell, consistent anti-Zionism can make you a "tankie" to some.

On Bluesky I'm on a list called "Tankies and their followers"

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 12 points 3 weeks ago

Lmao, that's so petty. Typical of the fascists to be making lists of suspected communists.

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

true, but i want the knowledge and the awareness that comes with it that tankies have

Try my new basic course on Marxism-Leninism! It's a much stripped-back version of my original study guide, targeting around 20 hours of reading time. If you read 15-30 minutes a day, you'll be done in 2-3 months!

there's a second list?! i barely touched the first list!

why do you gotta make me look lazy like that?!!! lol

[–] Cowbee@lemmy.ml 6 points 3 weeks ago

This is the list you should use, the old list is getting entirely overhauled as an advanced list. The old list is still up for now, and has archived versions, but it isn't really being maintained like the new, more basic list is.
