It depends on the instance. Dessalines doesn't run ads, so we won't see them.

I think someone can run ads on their instance on browser, and, separately, an app can run ads on any instance. Someone correct me here if I'm wrong.

On that note, Jerboa doesn't show ads either.

you either need a better lemmy app, or system-level adblocking on your phone. probably both.

protip: adaway doesn't require root to work anymore.
