I don't think every terrible Trump decision can be laid at Putin's feet.

There are plenty of other folks pulling the strings too.

Putin was in the driver's seat for Trump's first term, which is why there was no attack on Iran during that time despite it being stated Republican policy for years (McCain was literally singing about it during the 2008 campaign.)

Putin's got his hands full this time around, though. Trump will still do him favours whenever he can, but he's got other handlers with more influence now.
