If this was a new variant that is exactly what they would tell us though, and it is spreading more than this Andes variant is supposed to.

Evidence from previous outbreaks, including the Epuyén cluster in Argentina, in which three patients accounted for 21 (64%) of 33 secondary infections, indicates that person-to-person transmission of Andes virus infection can occur through close contact.

And that was on land. There's no precedent for a cruise ship, a hilariously infectious environment. Fuck cruise ships forever, I wish we could just ban them.
