Bad looking and deeply distasteful. Wow! AI truly is ruining how we view history faster than I could have ever imagined.

[–] Frozengyro@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Reminding people of what happened in tiananmen square is distasteful?

[–] Minotaur@lemm.ee 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

“Reminding people”? This isn’t “reminding people”. A text post or you know, actual photography is reminding people. Some lazy bastard making a distorted simulacra where monsterous looking people run from a massacre on his computer isn’t respecting it. You might as well depict the Uvalde shooting in your own shit

The prompt was "blurry 90s photo of mass panic". Calm down, sweaty

[–] LaserTurboShark69@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Then why associate it with the massacre?

[–] AplasticAenima@lemmy.world -1 points 2 years ago

Because that's what it looked like

[–] Minotaur@lemm.ee 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yeah man, that’s way more of a normal thing to be doing

[–] AplasticAenima@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Normal? I just try random things and see what Bing comes up with. It's weird sometimes. Really, I understand why it's in bad taste, but I didn't mean for it to be. It had nothing to do with Tianamen at first, so I shouldn't have put the date as the title.

The 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre was on that date. It's like generating an AI image of people falling of the twin towers, or one of jews in a gas chamber, or an image of the rape of Nanjing, or of the people in Hiroshima during the nuclear bomb. Extremely in bad taste.

The original title of this post was "June 4th"

[–] merde@sh.itjust.works -3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

would you still consider it "bad taste" if it was a painting?

[–] DosDude@retrolemmy.com 2 points 2 years ago

It's not a painting. It's just an edgelord prompting "AI" to generate this image and (formerly) giving this image the title of "June 4th". The image itself is not the problem. The person posting it is.

This is an awful looking, distorted image generated by a computer trying to show off a massacre.

Picture an artist depicting the Boston bombing in fecal matter

[–] Raykin@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago

Makes sense now. Thanks.

[–] Luci@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I think this is a political shitpost sir.

[–] AplasticAenima@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Actual prompt: blurry 90s photo of mass panic

[–] Minotaur@lemm.ee -1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

You’re going to have to educate me on what the haha funny joke of an AI generated photo of a massacre is my man
