How can they say they love Israel but also say Jews run everything and be generally negative towards Jews here?

"Doublethink is a process of indoctrination in which subjects are expected to simultaneously accept two conflicting beliefs as truth, often at odds with their own memory or sense of reality. Doublethink is related to, but differs from, hypocrisy."

Edited to add:

It's a common tactic with fascist regimes. Nazis used to do it with Jewish propaganda by simultaneously claiming that Jews were weak vermin that needed to be exterminated and that they are this supervillain that controls all the money.

You currently see it a lot with the people chanting "Genocide Joe" and claiming he is some mastermind warhawk with at the same time claiming that he is some feeble, senile old man. He's Schrödinger's politician!

You have gravely misunderstood the Genocide Joe label, lol

So what do you think the Republican leadership hopeful Nikki Haley meant by writing "finish them" on an Israeli bomb?

That's almost the most evasive thing you could have said. The question was what do you think the Republican leadership hopeful Nikki Haley meant by writing “finish them” on an Israeli bomb?

That they're as genocidal as the Democrats.

That doesn't make Biden a criminal mastermind playing 4d chess, it makes him a head of state who supports it.

[–] silasmariner@programming.dev 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

This doesn't make sense bro, are you ok?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 0 points 6 months ago

What, exactly, doesn't make sense to you?

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You're equating Biden, who said don't bomb Rafah with Hayley who said kill them all? Riiiiight.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

"Ooohhh don't bomb them with the bombs we gave you we'll do nothing if you do despite multiple laws requiring us to not keep giving you bombs ohhhh noooo"

And you people wonder why the actual left keeps muttering about what happens when you get scratched, lul.

Well, actually there's the law passed in 2008 requiring him to ensure that Israel is better armed than all of its neighbours.

The election is on a knife edge according to the polls. Who do you think would be worse for Gaza, Biden or Trump?

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Trump.

Now stop pretending Biden isn't enabling a genocide, that his baseline Constitutional powers don't give him plenty of authority by themselves, and the dozens of laws and treaties prohibiting America from arming a genocidal state don't apply because this one law you haven't actually read says "nuh uh, this is a SUPER law."

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 0 points 6 months ago

Now stop pretending that allowing Trump to win means worse atrocities in Gaza and more encouragement for despots everywhere, including for Russia winning the war invading Ukraine.
