Why is mercury ranked second despite having the same number of medals (zero) as the unranked ones? Who did Mercury pay off for this "mistake" to happen? Is big Mercury subtly trying to influence our perception of them?

Those "unranked" ones are actually tied for second place.

Mercury didn't win a medal but was given an honorary one for winning the freestyle orbital revolution in a record 88 days.

I was thinking the OC could've (should've) started some shit by putting them in order by distance from the sun as they are now, except for putting Saturn before Mercury. And then enjoy the hand wringing.
