I'm 41 and video game guides/walkthroughs have been my mom for roughly 35 years. My dad is mods and used to be cheat codes.

I'm a long time enthusiastic but incompetent gamer, is what I'm getting at ๐Ÿ˜

I dunno. It's nice having at least some visual guidance that wasn't graphed out in Notepad.

I played Postal 2 and got stuck after a huge setpiece at the mall. I looked up a guide that just said "go through the shipping containers." I knew where the pile of shipping containers was, but could not for the life of me figure out where the fuck they had any way through.

An entire decade later, I bought it on Steam, played it on much nicer settings, and got stuck at the same damn part. I looked up what was probably the same guide. But this time - I found the one container that was open just enough to get in, and was open at the other side.

If someone claimed that Running With Scissors uploaded a fake pirate version where there just wasn't a way past that part, I would probably believe them.
