Is there an easier way to block NSFW altogether? I wanted to try Mastodon but left because no matter what, I did - it was filled with NSFW.
Any Mastodon server recommendation for anime, games and art that are not NSFW?
My problem may be related: how do you find people to follow? I wish I could just follow communities like on Lemmy. I’ve tried following hastags I’m interested in, but it seems like they aren’t always used.
I’ve instead searched for topics that I’m interested in, followed a bunch of people, then unfollowed the ones that post too much stuff I’m not interested in. But this seems like a pain.
I also don’t necessarily want to see everything that a single person posts.
Same
I was never really on Twitter (had an account that I never used). Tried mastodon recently to fill in some gaps from lemmy but there’s really no good way that I found, to follow interesting/active/popular people
If anyone knows what I did wrong I’d gladly take the suggestion (tbf I didn’t really bother to search but if you reply to me other people will also read it)
It's searching and digging through other people's follows. I found a bunch of people that I followed on Twitter, but didn't really enjoy the content, so I stopped using Mastodon. I don't think I'm cut out for microblogs.
For gaming, I'd suggest https://mstdn.games. Not entirely sure if NSFW is allowed, but I've never come across it, personally.
Follow users that put such content into Content Warning blocks. That is the intended use of that among many.
Sakurajima has a Mastodon and a Sharkey instance. Both very much aimed at Japanese culture and related stuff. This should hit your anime requirement at least.
