MUCH slower, no protection from the elements, most can only support one person at a time. Great for shorter distances, but that's about it.

A velocycle basically solves all these problems.

There are lots of multiple person bicycle type vehicles.

Like this magical invention picture of pedal powered vehicle in which several passengers can pedal while being served beer

most can only support one person at a time.

As a Dutchie, that's bullshit. Three at the least.

Maybe three Dutchies but certainly not three Americans.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Maybe Americans should ride bikes more and this wouldn't be an issue.

If you'd been to America you would know why they can't ride bikes. I live 20 miles from work, and 25 miles from any public transportation down a road that goes 60mph with no shoulder, and no bike lane and hilly sandy soil. Biking would kill me within the week.

I live in America. What you describe is a problem that can be fixed.

3 Americans as well. If you don't go for an ultra-light sport bike, but a steel one.

Hmmm, maybe we should add a few more seats, more wheels, some protection from the elements, somewhere to put your luggage... oof this got heavy. Maybe something to power it as well?

Don't use those for fuel, they are inefficient.
