I was sold when I heard Keanu Reeves is gonna be Shadow the Hedgehog.

It's so beyond dumb it loops back to genius.

Are they gonna re-cast Robotnik or just not have the character? Or convince Carrey to do it again? I was disappointed to hear he didn't want to do it again. Robotnik was one of my favorite things about the movies, and I'm not sure anyone but him could bring that same energy to the character. 😩

Ohh, he's Robotnik for sonic 3 too based on recent news. I guess this will be his last one?

If they were going to recast the transition between skinny Dr Robotnik being reborn as a heavy set Eggman would be the ideal time.

I never imagined I’d see Sonic Adventure 2 in theaters. I’m at maximum hype!

So I actively avoided the first Sonic movie, and also didn’t even know there was a second movie until just now.

I watched it ages ago entirely because it was on netflix (IIRC), had time to waste & I had heard Jim Carrey was absolutely going ham as the Dr.Robotnik. It was an ok timewaster, obviously not high art or anything.

Sounds like it’s a different sort of “high art”, if you get my drift.

I was pleasantly surprised, but that's probably because I went in with low expectations. Fun movies.

But… the bugs!

I’m really surprised they went with Shadow instead of Metal Sonic. Thematically Metal Sonic fits with all the Robotnik arsenal happening in the stories. Shadow is more at the forefront of stuff now, so I guess that’s why. I assume Shadow will be good by the end of it, similar to Knuckles, and the final boss may still end up being a version Metal Sonic maybe?
