Man, if I was personally responsible for laying off 1500 people, I'd flush myself down a toilet. People like this guy are just shit.

Not to mention all the projects and studios they decided to cancel or gut shortly after purchasing them.

Not even sure what was going on there, other than just wanting to own a bunch of IPs to sit on and do nothing with.

They wanted to get pickes up in a billionaire acquisition by some Arab group. But the deal never happened and they ended up with billions in debt instead.

Yeah, if my org told me I need to layoff people, I'd respond with my resignation. I know my org can afford to keep people, so the only reason would be to pad numbers for some kind of bonus or other. I'm secure enough financially that I'm not so desperate for a job that I'll fire good people to keep it.

That said, I'll fire people who don't work out.
