Kde connect is pretty good for this, but im upset with how difficult it is to disable on both android + linux.

Lately I switch between connect, unified remote, and steam link for the same reason. I also have a backup mini wireless keyboard for when none of them want to work right.

Does that only work on NVIDIA?
Not for a while now, I continued to use it after switching to AMD. It's regularly being updated, give it a try.
How do you install it, on what platform etc? Is this completely wayland ready? That would be slick
