Are people still playing DayZ standalone? How is it these days?

I never could get into it (despite buying it the moment it was available and going back to it a few times years apart). I had played thousands of hours of the mod before and it felt like it never lived up to that.

It's still shit, because they never really got the code working to having more than a few zombies per server, it's just a waste land pvp game with some zeds tossed into it. No roaming hordes, no bandits... nothing. The mod was way better and was awesome, SA was a cash grab.
