Who are these fans, why would they think that, also... there's a Deadpool game?

This seems like nothing news/fake drama to make people think about Deadpool and oh by the way go see that movie in theaters.

It was a beat-em-up hack 'n' slash that played like an early Devil May Cry game. It was really fun, and included everything that was Deadpool at the time (he was borderline schizo during the comics at this time, and the game included both of the "other voices" in his head as a pseudo-narrator kinda thing).

Honestly a really fun game, I pirated it when it came out and now that it doesn't exist anywhere except the high seas, I regret not paying for it then. To be fair though, it had little replayability, just the, "once every few years" kind. Still a fun game though.

TIL that there was a Deadpool game. May have to go back and play it.

Too bad, it's been delisted from everywhere due to licensing issues.

Yar, har, fiddle-do-dee, all you gotta do, is sail the high sea!

For those who are interested, the Deadpool game is very very mid. I got it when it first came out, and I don't think I ever beat it. I just got bored of the gameplay.

It is a very solid beat-em-up with solid humor. It's actually great if you're looking for a simple game that doesn't demand too much of you. I can imagine it being boring though.

It was probably the most bug ridden games I'd played. Also iirc, the in-game currency carried over when you died, which effectively meant that all upgrades were relatively cheap.

It's a super rare game. If you try to buy a copy it's like $100+ and it's not in any eshop, streaming or download service. I've been wanting to play it forever but can never get a hold of one

Nothing like artificial scarcity to screw more money out of folks.

[–] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

But that's not what this is. The developers aren't making any money off a second hand copy being posted on eBay.

This game is never available because of the copyright and licensing rights that don't allow a rerelease. So the only ones there exist, are the ones that are owned by gamers.
