Why do people cling onto the words of pathological narcissists? Nothing they say has any value or significance as these people are shells of humans who take on whatever opinions they feel will get them the most social acceptance within their preferred groups.

As a rule one should expect narcissists to go back on their word. Their thoughts and words are meaningless.

Sounds like he's setting himself up to run for office in 2028 with all the bullshit. Perfect for politics

[–] PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca 10 points 4 months ago

The last few years have highlighted that running for office is sound strategy when you’ve got charges and corruption to dodge.

What's he gonna run for, governor somewhere? He's burned all his bridges and goodwill in California, and Texans absolutely hate big tech firms that Musks represents. And Trump has been a perfect example of why the ultra-wealthy never run for public office; it drags all your skeletons from the closet and into the public eye. Corruption from a businessman is expected, but open corruption in a politician has to be punished to some degree.

It's still important to point out, especially for narcissists that have that much influence.

Yeah I get the odd friend that loves Musk and when they ask for counterpoints, it's good to have them handy.

eliminate the bots delivering opinions he doesn't like

My abandoned account gets about 1 new follower per day and I don't post shit. Totally legitimate behavior from 1Lq94cmbVrJ3E.

I stopped using twitter ages ago but I left my account intact with a long, random password. I should check my number of followers, except that would probably mean logging in. I’m curious now.

[–] Tixanou@lemm.ee 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You should use one of these nitter instances so you can see your follower count without logging in

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 months ago

Thanks! I don't even have 200 followers, so I'm too small to be important and visible. Which is exactly how I like to be.

"Hey boss I got a great idea for a story - what if we talk about how Elon Musk made Twitter a shitty platform with all the bots running around?"

Excellent! That's sure to garner LOADS of clicks! What a scoop!

[–] wccrawford@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

Not a huge surprise, but ironic considering how hard he pushed the bot angle when he was trying to wriggle out of purchasing it.

[–] Lila_Uraraka@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 4 months ago

Also, bots on Twitter are up to 70 something percent

site that keeps track of the bullshit predictions and lies: https://elonmusk.today/

...well...I think they gave up tracking his bullshit claims.

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 4 months ago

otoh twitter is more irrelevant now than it's ever been under musk
