I'm happy to see a new rts actually getting a good reception. Sometimes it seems the genre is cursed.

We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.
5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW
Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.
No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.
6. No linking to piracy
Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.
We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

Its pretty much exactly like command & conquer, but its modern, so fun to play.
Set in 1997 in the wake of World War 3, the world has become afflicted by a strange new growth called Tempest, a russet, flowery structure that looks like a plant but isn't. Tempest is hazardous to human health and spreads rapaciously, but it's also an abundant energy resource. This makes it the primary catalyst of a war between Earth's two dominant factions, the Global Defence Force (GDF) and the Tempest Dynasty.

Good anyway, someone has to make good C&C games, and sure as hell it ain't gonna be EA.

I been playing for at least 6h, gameplay is identical to C&C games, very fun and nostalgic to play.
Beyond that story is meh ATM. Cutscenes feel boring and skipable. VA directions are non existent. I wouldn't be surprised if its revealed later that all of it is AI voices.
Also no controller support, so you'll need to configure keybinds if you want to play it on the steam deck.
Well most of the reviews says positive about this game and we lack scifi based RTS game with distinctive mechanism like this in many years that is why this release this should needs some love and by the way, I hope in the future they considered putting a charismatic leader with distinctive trait in one of the faction with eye-catching catchphrase as well. that will be awesome
There are a few reviews talking about data harvesting clauses in the EULA. I haven't looked into it but might be worth double checking if that concerns you.
It's very c&c, only done few missions but definitely good first impressions. Feels like what cnc 4 should've been and not that moba hybrid abomination.
