List of affected manga from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/mangadex/comments/1kmzg9q/list_of_manga_affected_by_the_dmca_takedown_to/

Mangadex will release an official list soon (?).

Holy shit, this is actually a pretty bad list. A lot of classics and actually good modern manga here. Unfortunate - mangadex was great while it lasted. Pirate sites are hydra, if course, but mangadex was actually usable unlike a lit of other sites.

I'm at the point where I want to self host everything. Is there anything like Jellyfin for Manga?

Yes there is. They're called Kavita and Komga. If you wanna host Doujins then there is Lanraragi, it has a better tagging system then both of them but struggles with chapter merging and all.

Kavita is the preferred one nowadays.

Yes, Jellyfin. At least that’s what I use. I would be interested in hearing what other people use. Jellyfin is far from perfect with manga.

Wait we can put manga on the Jelly? I need to look into this.

EDIT: Maybe you can.

I believe the documentation has a section for it. It can be a bit slow to open a large volume but once it’s open it works well. I just wish that they would open faster and that Jellyfin would get some QOL features around books/comics/manga.

Yes you can but the experience is not that good.

If you use android there is a specific app someone made for reading books from Jellyfin https://github.com/JellyBookOrg/JellyBook

Not saying that one's great, but it is something and maybe you haven't tested it yet.

Thats a lot of good titles gone

At least there's Nyaa, and alternative sites to Mangadex for ongoing releases.

[–] DaPorkchop_@lemmy.ml 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Sadly a number of these don't seem to exist on Nyaa, or in any other English form that I can find.

comick.io ia decent. Has a big collection of Manhwa and Manhua as well

[–] Yingwu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago

Check out Comick or Weeb Central!

Wait, why did they remove Spy x Family? They pretty much only relink what the official publisher Shueisha's titles that are free on the site at that time. Not repost mind you, linking to the official source itself.

Edit: official publisher uploads aren't removed, gave me a scare there.

I recommend everyone hit up the Trove, get HakuNeko or a similar app and start making offline backups. Its not going to get easier from now on. KissManga and Mangafox still have suitable uploads for plenty of those series, but we don't know for how long.

[–] JakobFel@retrolemmy.com 5 points 1 week ago

If you're on Android, you really need to use Kotatsu. If one source is taken down, you have a couple hundred other options and it doesn't change the overall experience.

[–] interdimensionalmeme@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 week ago

Where it the backup torrent ?

Made a plea of my own on the other thread you can view.

It's time to cease empowering tyrants and their censorious ways. Free press and mirror today! I want you to mirror these media

Wonder how big the mangadex catalog is, 15TB?
