I thought this was a “premium” game. Why should they optimize for the poors? /s
I really wish Randy would shut the fuck up, because it seems like the actual devs really care about this game.
People who spend every waking moment working on something end up caring about it. Being a game dev in the AAA industry is brutal. You only do it if you really like working on games. The pay sucks, the hours suck, and the benefits suck.
The only thing you really get to keep is the pride in your work when the game is released.
It's clear Randy did fuckall with this game, because he lacks any pride in what his devs have accomplished.
I just spent 5000€ on a new rig to join the premium gearbox gamer society and now this?
It’s so funny that this was their mindset when it doesn’t run well on my PC which cost close to $2,000.
Randy is so out of touch he thinks people with $2,000 available in discretionary spend are “the poors”.
I think they do think that though. Companies seem to have realized they can make more money with less sales by pricing the lowest bidding consumer group out of the market.
Okay, but the people playing on 5090s aren't interested in barely getting 60 fps.
There's no amount of hardware that shitty software can't piss down the drain.
That’s not my point though. I was just saying that the rich people of the world really do seem totally okay with the idea of a class of people who cannot afford anything.

All he had to say was "we are working on it, in the meantime, use some frame gen, or bump your res down. Our bad". But no, he had to be a dick about it.

…but I thought performance was fine, why would something fine be their top priority? Pitchford couldn’t possibly have been talking out of his ass, could he?
What now it's a priority? What about Pitchfords snobbish comments? Did their bottom line hurt?
Most people I know who are keen on the game are completely unaware of any of the the discourse surrounding it. It was probably minimal.
Something I've kinda come to accept about Gearbox is that Pitchford is an ass and sometimes they farm out products when they shouldn't (ACM bring the biggest example), but most of the devs actually working on the games really do care about the product and want it to be good.
Gearbox would be a much more beloved company if Randy Pitchford fucked off. He makes everything they do worse, like bragging about how terrible Duke Nukem Forever was like the company is proud of killing the franchise.
That means they're removing Denuvo & Symbiote right? Right???
Of course not. It'll be mandatory DLSS and fake frame generation because that the future of graphics and game development.
I'll check it out when it's under $5. At this rate, maybe next year's winter sale? I have a rig that is reportedly already able to play it but I don't pay full price, ever. Even games I really want, and this ain't it.
Being a patient gamer is the way. If a game is worth playing, it will be patched/tuned and healthy in 6 or 12 or 18 months. Much cheaper also.
It's not just stutters but also just general poor performance in the open world, such that I get about half the frame rate I would expect to see on high settings without frame gen. I wouldn't be surprised if the optimizations here are like what happened with Assassin's Creed: Unity where there was a bunch of detail that got sanded off of the world map in places that a player should never actually see it anyway.

Should have just skipped PC anyway.
