I didn't know the European Space Agency organized E3. Learn something new every day.

I came here to say, now they can get back to exploring space instead of advertising games! ๐Ÿ˜…

Now I just want to watch E40 do a video game presser

For the most part, I only play a single (sub-)genre and nothing else. The E3 was a nice event to get up to speed on anything else. I don't care enough to keep up with all these different presentations and announcements if they are not bundled together. I'll kinda miss it.

Summer of Games has basically supplanted this now so the spirit of this sort of thing hasn't really gone anywhere.

They're still bundled, it's just fans doing the work to put them all in one place. The spectacle was cool but E3 was always going to die once the internet became widespread.

What, again? ESA, this is the third time you've canceled E3.

Canceling a scheduled party is different than demolishing the party house

It's like hayao miyazaki announcing his retirements, like alright see you next movie then.

They canceled it for specific years, but now it's canceled forever.

I thought they canceled it "forever" in like 2010 or something. I vaguely remember a Ctrl+Alt+Del comic arc about it.

I swear this was already announced this year. Am I crazy?

[โ€“] simple@lemm.ee 21 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The announcement was that they cancelled E3 this year and a lot of people speculated it was done for good, this is the first time we got official conformation.

Thanks, appreciate the clarification ๐Ÿ™

E3 was still happening? I thought it died years ago.
