I enjoy with jalapeños.
thinly-sliced pineapple with jalapenos on pizza is great. Where you run into trouble is when it's giant wet chunks that immediately fall off because they have nothing to stick to the pizza with, and they leave rectangular, sweet, wet cheese holes behind that no longer have the structural fortitude to keep the slice rigid enough to make it to your mouth.
I'm annoyed that I know exactly what you're talking about and now it irritates me all over again lol
Pepperoni, jalapenos, and pineapple is the best pie with pineapple as a topping. The spice of the jalapenos pairs very nicely with the sweet pineapple, and pepperoni is just good to boot.
Either you and I have met in real life or there's another madman out there with the exact same thoughts on pizza.
I go out to Keystone Colorado most years to go snowboarding and stay near or on the mountain. There is a pizza joint there called "Pizza on the Run" where I first had it. It's now a staple for every trip I take out there.
the real secret is to cut the pineapple fresh then put it on, don't cook it with the pizza
cooked pineapple is fucking nasty, fresh pineapple on pizza is great
you gotta sear the pineapple first, then you get the nice flavorful stuff and it's not all wet
I usually do red onions but jalapenos could work pretty well too, I should try that.
Eat what you want. Stop gate keeping pizza. Set the pizza free! Something needs to be set free in this world and if it can only be pizza, then so be it!

I can't eat jalapeños (intolerance or something) so here are some other good pineapple combos worth trying.
- Regular sauce, pineapple, feta, optional artichoke
- Sweeter sauce, pineapple, pepperoni, banana peppers
- BBQ sauce, pineapple, roasted chicken (or meatballs!), red onion
- Pesto sauce, pineapple, sausage, and roasted red peppers (my favorite!)
