Scenario: you'd like to post to a community. The post would contain some funny satire related to the community topic. Some communities accept this and they state it in their description (sidebar). But it isn't clear whether that's OK for the community you want to post to. What to do?

This is an example where a "meta-discussion" would be useful: you could just ask in a meta-thread if it's OK to post. It looks like there isn't something like that on Lemmy though, or am I mistaken? What's best to do then? contact a mod?

Create a post starting with [Meta]

Some mods will remove it. That usually shows they aren't receptive about feedback and might tend to power trip.

But most of the time it's fine.
